Amanda Burns ABOUT ME I’m 50 and I live in a Thirties four-bedroom house in Wirral with my husband Andy, 54, daughters Cordelia, 19, and Arabella, 12, and dogs Betty and Harry. WHAT’S YOUR LATEST PROJECT? My most recent upcycling project was painting an original Thirties walnut cabinet in a subdued silver shade – it looks wonderful. Kadie Cory ABOUT ME I’m 32 and live with my husband Jon and daughter Noa, one, in an early 1900s semi in Pontypridd. WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE ROOM? 1.Reflect the light in style Choose mirrored furniture that has a touch of Art Deco opulence. The surface will reflect light, creating an illusion of extra space, while details like the crystal drawer knob add a glam finishing touch. 2. Go for a plush headboard For a timeless statement piece that offers comfort and style, choose a beautiful upholstered and buttoned headboard. Rich velvet in a delicate silver is a classic pick. Team with bedlinen in similar shimmering shades. 3. Add wow with feature lighting Hang a standout pendant above the bed for more grandeur. Crystal designs cascade twinkling rainbows around the room, while bedside lights in an antique glass finish add another layer to this opulent scheme. 4. Layer the bed with texture For a cosy feel that still…
Just like the shimmer of a dragonfly’s wings or a mermaid’s tail, this super slick trend features all the colours of the rainbow, each one dazzling as it catches the light. Add this lustre effect to your home with bold vases, cutlery and glassware to make a colourful statement.
