WELL, it’s early 2017 and the new year to me means pigs, foxes and snakes. I know you can hunt pigs and foxes at any time of year, but the summer months make things easier, not in climatic conditions, but the ease in locating animals. Pigs in the heat won’t be too far from a water source and the new litter of foxes will be young and dumb and readily come to the whistle or caller.
Pigs are easy to hunt in summer; with no sweat glands, they need water. In areas with creeks and rivers, they can be harder to pin point, but on properties where the only water source is from dams or tanks, look for fresh trotter marks and fresh wallows during the day, then return in…
