Silly Me
I went downstairs to do the laundry,And that is when it saw me.
A rat or a mouse?Something was wrong in our house.
Maybe it’s poisonous, maybe I’ll die!Maybe I’ll turn into something that flies!
It grabbed me by the arm,It took me to its lair.
It rushed me to a room,It sat me in a chair!
And then he stepped into the light.I saw a face,Oh, what a fright!
I said, “Who are you?”He said, “Well, how do you do?”Suddenly I gasped, “Hey! I know you!”
Oh, dear. Oh, my.What a fool was I.It was just my dear dad,Sneaking bites of pie.
