Al Bayt Stadium will be the site of the World Cup’s opening match between Qatar and Ecuador. The stadium was officially opened in November 2021. The stadium features a retractable roof that can open and close within 20 minutes and will host games during the group stage, round of 16, quarterfinals and a semi final match.

The oldest stadium being used for the tournament was officially opened in 1976. It has gone through several upgrades since then though.
