1. MONTEX ATELIER
Embroidery firm Montex, which was acquired by Paraffection in December 2011, was tasked by Chanel fashion studio director Virginie Viard and creative director Karl Lagerfeld to create the accent braids. Braids are embroidered by needle, made of wisps of tweed, 310 rhodoid elements, 1,430 metallic tubes and 685 stones, requiring 181 hours of work. These embroidered braids will embellish the collar, the pockets and the hem of the dress, as well as the Maison Michel cap.
2. LEMARIÉ ATELIER
The Lemarié atelier, established in 1880, specialises in feather appliques and fabric flowers—in fact, it creates 40,000 fabric flowers every year.
