Last week, as is often the case, was a varied one. On Monday, I went to talk to Dr Franco Gussalli Beretta and his son Carlo about their strategy for the company that’s been in their family for over 500 years. On the Friday, I went to the West Country for the Devon Wildfowlers’ annual quiz.
Sitting upstairs in the Holland & Holland shop on Jermyn Street, Carlo, who is 25, said he likes to go hunting as often as he can but in Italy, there aren’t many young people who are into it any more. “Strange, really, for me not to be able to get out much,” he concluded in perfect English.
