How to spot it and where to find it: An annual or biennial, herb robert grows to about 30cm, forming a rosette of split, almost fern-like, leaves. From late spring it produces sprays of pale pink, five-petalled flowers that continue to bloom into the autumn. The stems and leaves are hairy and gradually turn red. Herb robert appears in hedgerows and on woodland edges, on wasteland and in margins of crop fields, as well as rocky spaces.
