I have come to the conclusion that just as temperament in a dog is paramount so it is in a judge. It is true that while some can make a dog into a field trial champion, that same individual may not be able to judge. It may also be true that even though a person hasn’t made a dog into a field trial champion, they may be a good judge. However, the question is, do people want to be judged by someone who hasn’t proved themselves or indeed even won an open stake?
