I really want to make fun pants, but none of the patterns I have tried worked well. Where have I gone wrong? Ahh, the pants predicament. Truth be told, women's bodies come in an infinite combination of sizes and shapes and a pants pattern comes in a limited number of standardized sizes. That means it is a miracle if no adjustments are needed. Here is a list of common pants fitting mistakes, suggested solutions, and prayers for patience. Remember: pants fitting is a journey, not a onetime event. 1. Do not begin with a size that is too small or a design that is too detailed. VOLUME 2: THE PERFECT BUTTON-UP SHIRT If you were to take a peek at my sometimes-chaotic pattern stash, you might notice one type of pattern I have more of than any other: button-up shirts. It is my palate-cleanser project, something that I can always use in my closet. It also was my second sewing project ever, so it is something I am very comfortable making. Now you may think that if you've seen one button-up you've seen them all, and companies are just trying to capitalize on an item found in most closets.
