Antarctica, Patagonia, Machu Picchu, Rome, Las Vegas … I’ve travelled to six continents, and I need to count how many countries. However, no matter where you are in the world, when you meet someone and introduce yourself as from New Zealand, the typical response is always “wow, what a beautiful country”, often followed by a comment about their favourite hike, place or adventure – a fond memory held highly in their top travel destinations list. I always found it slightly embarrassing that I hadn’t been there, or knew much about the places they mentioned – a comment I’ve heard from fellow motorhomers plenty of times before.
