AS LIFELONG school friends and occasional collaborators, architect Lucy Bowen and interior designer Lisa Buxton are well and truly tuned into each other’s professional strengths. So when an opportunity arose to work together on this house, it was an easy creative partnership to forge. “We complement each other and enhance each other’s designs,” says Lucy. Their clients were a couple with three school-aged boys who wanted to overhaul their circa 1930s Spanish Mission bungalow in Melbourne’s Elwood in order to increase space, light, style and real-life amenity.
