RENTING A FLAT IN A CITY can be fraught with difficulties if you’re someone who loves interior design. The options of what you can do with a space are limited. As founder of Maison de Sable, Charlotte Taylor explains that “there are zones that we just can’t do much to”, and decoration must be temporary or reversible. When she moved in two years ago with her partner Elodie and their cats, Dante and Wolfgang, the architecture of the space captured their imagination. THE ORIGIN STORY OF RALPH LAUREN is a classic rags to riches tale. It was during high school lunch breaks that young Ralph Lifschitz (as he was then known) began selling handmade ties of his own design. WHEN THE OWNERS OF THIS SYDNEY APARTMENT approached interior designer Alexandra Kidd to tackle the renovation of their home, it was their first foray into bespoke interior design. “Our clients were dreaming of a home designed just for them and their fur babies, with space for their grown children and parents to visit.
