WHEN BEVERLEY NEWBOLD moved in to her Bondi apartment in 2015, she had every intention to renovate. “It took longer to materialise than actually expected, which is not uncommon,” she says with a laugh. Fast-forward five years, and just as works were about to finally begin, a global pandemic caused further delay. “In that time, all the things that I had decided to change just drove me crazy,” Beverley says. “You think you’re about to say goodbye to those bangy cupboards, and suddenly you’re stuck with them for another six months in lockdown.” It wasn’t just the clumsy kitchen cabinetry, though. “Everything was a bit square, and it had a fair amount of relatively horrible tiling,” she explains.
