PROJECT String Christmas tree Step 1 If necessary, get your plywood cut to your chosen size at a hardware store like Bunnings (our plywood measures 1m x 1.9m). Step 2 Lay your plywood on a flat surface. Using a pencil and ruler, mark the centrepoint where you’d like the top of the tree to start. Now, mark the centre base point (towards the bottom of the board). About 20cm straight up from this point mark another point – this will be the “trunk”. Playdough decorations recipe Ingredients 14 tbsp plain white flour; 7 tbsp fine salt; 2 tbsp oil; about 7 tbsp of water. Method Mix ingredients, except water. Add water 1 tbsp at a time until dough has clay consistency. Let rest for 1 hour. Roll out dough. Use glasses and knives to cut out shapes. Make a hole in the top of each decoration. To harden, bake for 4 hours, each hour a different temperature – first hour at 50°C, next 75°C, following 100°C and last 125°C.
