You’ll need: A mixed selection of dried foliage, vases and a block of floral foam.
1 Choose low-maintenance varieties that will dry thoroughly, such as pampas grass, cotton, wheat, eucalyptus, baby’s breath, twisted willow branches, tallow berry, lavender and sculptural twigs.
2 Experiment with different containers and textures. A straw tote or basket filled with rice flowers, lavender and bunny tail grass will lend a French provincial feel.
3 Dry your own blooms, selecting flowers that aren’t completely open yet (they’ll continue to open as they dry). Cut off unnecessary foliage, use string to group flowers into small bundles or leave as individual stems, then hang upside down in a cool, dark, dry place.
