Following the 2021 drop-out rate released in Stats SA’s General Household Survey, experts believed that the pandemic has worsened the challenges pupils had already been dealing with. THE online application system system for 2023 Grade 1 and Grade 8 in Gauteng public schools overcame a temporary technical glitch and accepted 165 000 applications for placement on the first day yesterday.
