AS WE mark International Women’s Day on Tuesday, it is an opportune time to reflect on the importance of the empowerment of women, and the role that women and girls – half the world’s population – can play in the establishment of peace on Earth.
The empowerment of women, and attaining their equal status with men, in the Baháí view, is necessary for the transformation of our communities, in addition to its role for individual progress and development.
The emancipation of women, besides its role for their individual and collective well-being, is also a prerequisite to world peace.
