AFP SOUTH African golfing great Gary Player has been criticised for accepting the US Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Donald Trump on Thursday, a day after a mob of Trump supporters invaded the US Capitol building.
Player’s son, Marc, however, went on social media to try to persuade Player not to accept the award, and afterwards tweeted it was a “shame” that his father decided to attend the ceremony held behind closed doors.
