BRENDIN HORNER: THE FACTS A YOUNG MAN MURDERED, A COMMUNITY UP IN ARMS Brendin Horner, 21, was a young farmer working with his father for well-known Free State farmer Gilly Scheepers of Bloukruin. He was reported missing by his girlfriend on October 2 and the next day his body was found tied to a pole on the De Rots farm in Paul Roux. His vehicle was found abandoned near another farm. Two suspected stock thieves were arrested and have been charged with murder and robbery. Lebogang Mahlangu, 24, of Soshanguve, said she was more excited than nervous. “I did what I could possibly do; no half measures. The rest is up to the judges and fate,” she said.
