‘I set a new record, buying everything by 1 July’ We all love a bargain, don’t we? I’ve been a savvy shopper ever since I began buying Christmas presents myself, aged 16.
Then a student, working part-time in a shop, cash was tight.
That summer, I decided to buy presents each week, so my budget would stretch.
‘Very sensible, you bore!’ my mate, Holly, then 17, teased.
I noticed the shops bump up prices in the run-up to December.
Buying last-minute has never really appealed, though.
Especially as I’ve now got my boyfriend, Abe, 25, mum, Jane, 48, dad, Richard, 50, brother, Jack, 23, grandparents and all my mates to buy for.
Instead, I hit the January sales, buying stocking fillers and reduced designer clobber ready for the following year…
