Over the past few years, when there were pandemic concerns over being in large crowds or confined spaces, taking road trips during the autumn months seemed like a great way to enjoy nature’s beauty and tranquillity. I went on road trips from Nova Scotia through Quebec province, and New York to Massachusetts. Brilliant crab apple, dogwood, black gum, sassafras, spicebush, redbud and red maple trees, among others, provided a fantastic kaleidoscope of colours.
It’s important to plan your journey and I did plenty of research, so I went at the perfect time to catch autumn in full bloom, checking the temperature and forecasts.
