Before embarking on a journey to a new country, most photographers draw inspiration from other photographers and social media, sometimes forgetting that, besides inspiration, it’s necessary to obtain practical information about the country they are visiting. This was partially the case for me. Before my first trip to India, I admired the work of photojournalist Steve McCurry. I was intrigued by his perspective on India and the boldness with which he captured portraits of strangers in various situations.
