Being the editor of Petersen’s BOWHUNTING comes with some cool perks, such as occasional opportunities to hunt with incredible outfitters across the nation.
For example, last September I traveled to Whitetail Heaven Outfitters in Kentucky, where I killed a giant, non-typical velvet buck that grossed more than 180 inches. Tagging such an amazing trophy was likely a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and you can read all about it in my feature, Heaven Sent , on p. 34.
Yet as much as I enjoy outfitted hunts and the people who make them possible, it’s still hard to beat the thrill of hunting whitetails back home in Pennsylvania.
