This was the year that GM added performance-robbing catalytic converters to all of its cars, including the Firebird. Firebirds continued to look much the same as in 1974, except for a new roof line with a 10 percent larger wraparound backlight. The grille had new rectangular running lamps and turn signal lamps. High Energy Ignition and Radial Tuned Suspension systems were added to the equipment list. The Trans Am had flares, front and rear air dams, extractors, shaker hood scoop, Firebird decals, a rear deck lid spoiler, rally gauges, rally wheel rims and a shaker hood scoop.
