New York, New York, the city so nice The Division’s gone there twice. It’s fair to say the reception The Division 2 got was flat. It offered a tweaked version of the original game’s co-op, more Dark Zones, and PvP multiplayer out of the box, but the core grind was so-so, the endgame dragged, and sunny Washington was no substitute for snowy New York.
So what else could Ubisoft do but take us back to the Big Apple to tie up loose ends from the original game, massaging the sequel’s endgame into a more interesting series of seasons, each with unique events, rewards, and modes, and delivering boosts, new gear, weapons, and countless sorely needed refinements?
The result of this digital surgery is the sequel you really wanted. But perhaps…
