Judged on how it makes you feel – you know, the gloopy, sentimental stuff that bubbles up no matter what your penny-pinching head is telling you – Falcon Age would be a winner. Few games have made us feel as good as we do squinting up against the sun, watching our feathered friend soar across the sky.
The trouble is, those moments, sweet as they are, are pretty much all Falcon Age has got. On paper, it has offers more, of course – story, crafting, farming, dialogue options, combat if you want it, and even minigames – but they’re time wasters, really. It’s as though so much care and attention have gone into animating your stunning avian companion, there was little time left to do anything else.
