The Frankle’s best deal to date has been a property in Hill Park, Manurewa. A former showhome, the large 220m2 house was set on an 800m2 section just minutes from the motorway interchange. They purchased it in mid-2016 for $750,000, “probably 15% under value,” says Jono, and reorganised the interior to add a fourth bedroom. New kitchens and bathrooms were installed and the wardrobes were opened up, for a total reno spend of $50,000. That property is now worth around $1 million, and it’s too good to trade. The Frankles are holding it for the long-term and it’s currently rented out for $660 a week.
Jono says he’s been lucky enough to avoid making any major mistakes, thanks in part to having mentors, but he did have a close call…
