There’s no doubt about it, Robyn Malcolm is on a roll! Her TV drama After the Party – which she co-created, starred in and executive-produced – won nine gongs at the 2024 New Zealand TV Awards. Cheese & poppy seed shortbread (below) PREP +COOK TIME ABOUT 35 MINUTES (PLUS REFRIGERATION) MAKES 35 100g butter, softened 1 cup (120g) grated mature cheddar or tasty cheese 1 cup (150g) plain flour ¼ teaspoon sea salt flakes ¼ cup poppy seeds Finely grated Parmesan, fresh rosemary, for decoration (optional) 1 Process butter and cheese in a food processor until just combined. Easy Florentine mince pies PREP +COOK TIME 40 MIN MAKES 14 115g fruit mince 1 orange, zested 1 ½ tbsp bourbon or orange juice 30g ground almonds 60g glacé cherries, roughly chopped 375g sheet of ready-rolled shortcrust pastry 1 tbsp milk 1 tbsp demerara sugar 50g dark chocolate Preheat oven to 220°C. 1 Line a large baking tray with baking paper. Curtain ring wreaths You’ll need ● Cardboard ● Scissors ● Glue ● Curtain rings ● Paints and brushes ● String Cut out lots of very small 1 leaves from the cardboard. Depending on the size of the curtain ring, you will need about 50.
