I’ve seldom kept a diary. The idea appeals, but it requires routine. My most successful effort was 50 years ago when I took a four-month road trip around the United States. It seemed only natural, when I heard about the attempt to bring the Guinness World Record for the largest haka home to New Zealand, to ask my grandson if he’d like to go and be a part of the occasion. Kiwis make history The world record for the largest haka is back where it belongs – in Aotearoa New Zealand. More than 6500 people took part in a performance of Ka Mate at Eden Park to reclaim the record after it had been held for a decade by France.
