Jamie Oliver’s been able to give his five children a wonderful upbringing, thanks to his very lucrative career as a chef and TV personality. Now his son Buddy looks set to follow in his footsteps, after landing his own cookery show.
But the cooking superstar says he hopes his children have to struggle because hardship is part of success.
Jamie, 49, who is dad to Poppy, 22, Daisy, 21, Petal, 15, Buddy, 14, and River, eight, says he thinks his kids should embrace worry and anxiety because life is not supposed to be easy.
“I want my kids to struggle as much as possible, in a safe and controlled way,” he explains. “If it’s too easy, it’s really vanilla.”
