Prince William has put his money where his mouth is and invested in an electric scooter to zip around the Windsor estate. The heir to the throne, who is known for urging others to adopt more environmentally friendly practices, has forked out an estimated $10,000 for the scooter, which he plans to use to travel between his house, Adelaide Cottage, and Windsor Castle. It’s a round trip of around 4km, and William, 41, usually drives, says a palace source.
The scooter is a much better mode of transport for the environmentally-conscious royal, as it will help to reduce his carbon footprint. “It makes sense – he can just whizz up to the castle,” says the insider.
