Royal update The UK marks Mother’s Day in March and members of the royal family have used the occasion to pay special tributes to their mums, and also celebrate being mothers themselves.
For his first Mother’s Day without his mum, the Queen, who died last September, the King, 74, shared a beautiful photograph from the royal archives of himself as a child with her. In a joint social media post with Queen Consort Camilla, he wrote, “To all mothers everywhere, and to those who may be missing their mums today, we are thinking of you and wishing you a special Mother’s Day.”
In the same post, Camilla, 75, shared a photograph of herself with her late mother, Rosalind Shand, who died in 1994, aged 72.
