Pack your bags HOW TO PACK A SUITCASE I was once a compulsive over-packer. The beloved broadcaster’s reflections on life I heard someone on the radio advise that the worst thing any of us should do is retire. Her view seemed to be that once you stopped work, your mind and your body would speedily deteriorate. You needed to stay in a job, stay fit and keep your brain ticking over. Reflections from a stand-up guy We don’t have people over for dinner often, thus our house’s normal state is not what I would term “dinner-ready”. In fact, it’s the only reason we invite people at all: to force ourselves to tidy up. If we never had people over, our house would be on that show Hoarders.
