I’d like to be able to speak a little te reo Māori. Not just kia ora, haere mai or kia kaha. That’s pathetic really, isn’t it? I worked with a wonderful Māori woman in television who felt that opening Fair Go with kia ora, because that was all I knew, was more an insult than anything. So I didn’t. But I’d like to string a few sentences together like some TV and radio presenters do now. It sounds great.
