I love watching the Anzac Day commemorations on TV, particularly the coverage on Maori Television and TVNZ 1, but they’re all pretty good. I love the fact that our history is being kept alive and I especially love the fact that we see lived-in faces on our TV screens for one day of the year. Many of the men and women who have war-time stories to tell are no longer with us, but it’s wonderful to see the remaining beautiful strong faces, with character and expression, and wrinkles and grey hair living on. Hot on the heels of their New York show, the Complexions Contemporary Ballet returns to New Zealand this week for a series of breathtaking performances.
