FRUITFUL CHAT
My grandson, who lives out of town, came to visit one day. I asked him if he would like me to bake a cake for him to take back home with him. I suggested a fruit cake. He replied, “Yes, I like them, but I don’t like the fruit in them.” I guess I shall have to think again!

RECIPE FOR DISASTER
I was looking forward to my son coming over for tea, so I rang him and excitedly told him I had the origami for the spaghetti I was making, as on a previous occasion I had left it out. He jokingly replied, “Mum, I don’t want to be eating paper tonight.” The origami was very quickly replaced with oregano!
