IF YOU’VE EVER WONDERED which city is located the farthest distance from New York, it’s Perth, Western Australia—my hometown. Perth sits on the coast of the Indian Ocean, on the opposite side of the country from Sydney and Melbourne, around 11,600 miles away. To get there, I usually take a 16-hour flight to Hong Kong, followed by an eight-hour leg to my final destination. That’s 24 hours in total, not including layover time.
