On June 28 and 29, approximately 130 American Indian, First Nation and Alaskan Native artists will convene in Downtown Indianapolis to participate in the 33rd annual Eiteljorg Indian Market & Festival, one of the city’s largest multicultural events each summer. Held will be held on the grounds of the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, where the artists will showcase and sell their art. There is also a juried competition. “Attendees of all ages and backgrounds will have the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in a space celebrating, educating and amplifying Native cultures,” says Conner Richberg (Mohawk, Turtle Clan), festival manager at the Eiteljorg Museum.
Marketgoers will be exposed to many forms of Native art, including jewelry, pottery, weavings, paintings, beadwork, quillwork, basketry, carvings, sculpture, paintings…
