Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s culinary empire spans five continents with concepts on both our East and West Coasts, and in cities as far-f lung as São Paulo, Marrakesh, Paris, Jakarta, Shanghai, and Tokyo. A little over a year ago, the internationally acclaimed chef added Nashville to his family of restaurants, opening Drusie & Darr and The Pink Hermit in the historic Hermitage Hotel. TPAC Gala, the signature fundraiser for the Tennessee Performing Arts Center, is making its stylish return on Saturday, April 1, in a new location: the brand-new Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Nashville. Throughout the weekend of February 23, hundreds of people gathered together for Nashville Wine Auction’s annual Pairings event. More than $845,000 was raised at the eleventh annual event, and proceeds from the weekend will help fund the fight against cancer through local organizations that provide innovative patient treatment, cancer research, and caregiver/patient support. The fun-filled weekend included vintner dinners hosted in private homes, a “Wined Up” wine tasting party and silent auction at City Winery, and a Pairings dinner and live auction at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel. Unexpected Beginnings: I was always a reader, but I didn’t really get a hankering to start writing until I was an adult and the way it happened was truly a bit silly. We’d recently moved back to Tennessee, my youngest was in preschool, and I was in that perpetually tired, loopy mom-of-little-kids stage, which is the only way I can possibly explain my thought process for what comes next. On Valentine’s night, February 14, guests mixed and mingled with fellow whiskey enthusiasts at our annual Whiskey Lovers Cocktail Party with Jack Daniel’s Gentleman Jack at Harriet’s Rooftop located atop 1 Hotel Nashville.
