I can’t stop thinking about The Judds. I know, we don’t typically eulogize celebrities in the magazine, but Naomi’s passing has stuck with me. Let me say, I did not know the Judd family personally. The 404 Kitchen first opened in October 2013 in a 196 square-foot, repurposed shipping container that seated just 40 guests. In celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community, Nashville Pride returns to Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park for two fun-filled days of entertainment, excitement, and inclusivity. As a Vanderbilt undergrad, Rowanne McKnight missed having art history as a second major by just three hours of study. But she wasn’t trying to get one at the time, focusing more on her business and marketing studies. Today, as curator of the Nashville Artist Collective, the irony is obvious. “It was a happy accident that I ended up at Vanderbilt,” McKnight says. “I had grown up in New Orleans, so I was always around a lot of creativity. Nashville’s longest-running outdoor art show and favorite Father’s Day weekend activity for over forty years is returning this summer to Centennial Park. This will be the 46th year of The American Artisan Festival, and after a two-year break due to Covid, artisans from around the country are eager to showcase their work again to art lovers in Nashville.
