Liz Hodder has always been engaged in artistic activities. In early adulthood, Hodder had a successful music career as a singer-songwriter. After a hiatus—related to family life—she swapped music for visual art. Hodder’s mediums include ceramics, textiles, paintings, and surface design. Hodder grew up in Virginia. For her sixth birthday, she received a membership to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. On Tuesday, February 18, the Ballet Ball Patrons Party was hosted at the beautiful home of Sylvia Roberts. Guests enjoyed light bites courtesy of D.Kates Catering and French wine provided by Lipman Brothers. The Ballet Ball Patrons Party is one of many events leading up to the Ballet Ball which will take place on Saturday, February 26. These are weird and unprecedented times. As I am writing this, bars and restaurants around the country are making a tough decision: to close or keep their doors open. This includes Tailor Nashville, whose food graces our cover. Schools are closed. Events large and small are cancelled. In honor of the 100th anniversary of the state’s ratification of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote, the hotel will be celebrating suffragists with a roster of inventive cocktails and events throughout the year.
