“[Nashville’s literary community’s] support is invaluable, and that is the reason that authors continue to love to come to this event after 28 years.” The annual Southern Festival of Books unites 25,000 librophiles with 250 authors for a weekend that celebrates all kinds of literature.
“Our goal is for anyone to come out to the festival and find a session that is interesting to them,” Serenity Gerbman, director of literature and language programs for Humanities Tennessee, says. “Fiction, non-fiction, mystery, poetry, food, travel, children’s, and young adult authors are all represented. They range from superstar celebrities, like Cat Cora, the first female Iron Chef, to beloved literary authors, such as Curtis Sittenfeld.”
