Communities In Schools of Tennessee’s raison d’être aligns perfectly with the adage, “It takes a village to raise a child.” Founded locally in 2012 under the umbrella of the national Communities In Schools office, the organization works to solve some of the biggest hurdles to successful education by offering community-driven solutions. CIS has subsidiaries in 25 states, in which focuses vary depending on the key issues affecting students in those communities. Locally, according to the State of Tennessee Department of Education, the 2017 to 2018 rate of chronic absenteeism was 13.3 percent. After reading about the F45 workout online, Rachel Sigler wanted in. There was just one problem: The high-intensity, functional training workout out of Australia didn’t exist in Nashville. When she contacted their corporate office to find out if they would be opening a Nashville location, they said nothing was in the works. Then they suggested she could be the one to change that. Sigler was looking for somewhere to work out, not for a fitness studio to buy. But she couldn’t shake the idea, so she started writing a business plan. Known for its glamorous tweak of the classics, Hollywood Regency arrived during the Golden Age of Hollywood of the 1930s, fittingly, and continues to look thoroughly modern when arranged with deft hands. Riebeling’s 1940s home features hallmarks of the design aesthetic: Sumptuously tufted seating, bold colorways, faux bamboo, dramatic elements, Greek keyhole motifs, and over-the-top feminine touches.
