A Georgia native, Emily Hall Dorio got her commercial photography start in Athens, Georgia, assisting photographer Jim Fiscus and cooking under chef Peter Dale. Both of these opportunities conditioned her appreciation and aspirations for commercial and food photography. Under Fiscus, Dorio was mentored in everything from national commercial campaigns to fine arts exhibits and while working at chef Dale’s The National her love for modern fine dining bloomed. The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s newest major exhibit, “Outlaws & Armadillos: Country’s Roaring ’70s,” debuts its three-year run on May 25. The collection uncovers the counterculture movement that drew country artists, like Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings, to Austin, Texas, in search of creative liberty. This exhibit examines the artistic and cultural exchange between the two music-rich cities. “Often, Austin and Nashville’s music stories are told as distinct and competing tales. Whether someone is pregnant, is taking part in a dry spell, or simply doesn’t drink alcohol, talented mixologists are improving their menus of non-alcoholic “mocktails” that demonstrate the same care and creativity as their more spirited drinks.
