The third annual Farm, Fork & Cork dinner will be held May 21 at Michael W. Smith’s farm in Franklin. The memorable meal and fundraiser will feature a cocktail hour, a silent auction, and a seated dinner curated by St. Jude’s culinary team, along with chefs Hal Holden-Bache from Lockeland Table, Deb Paquette from Etch and etc., Andy Little from Josephine, and pastry chef Rebekah Turshen from City House. The Andrew Jackson Foundation will hold the 117th annual Spring Outing with keynote speaker Laura Bush at Jackson’s home, The Hermitage, on May 17. The previous First Lady will be the first former White House resident to headline the program. The invitation-only event is a celebration of President Jackson’s 250th birthday. This will be Bush’s second visit to The Hermitage. She is an advocate for human rights, women’s issues, and global healthcare. “She wants to be everyone’s friend.” It was love at first sight when musician Tyler Filmore met Blue Nose Pitbull Graye, who was rescued on Thanksgiving. Now five months old, this sweet girl enjoys anything involving food, playing in the yard, and hogging the bed.
