This is the smallest, lightest and most travel-friendly of Novo’s three Explora T-series kits. Even so, the fairly large-diameter four-section legs and robust ball head deliver an impressive max load rating of 10kg. Novo only makes carbon fibre tripods, but the price is competitive considering the construction and excellent quality of the components.
For a travel tripod, the design is fairly conventional, with a single-section centre column, three lockable leg angles and twist-action clamps. As such, the folded size isn’t that small, being just a centimetre shorter than the Kenro tripod on test, at 47cm.
