Breastfeeding, like pregnancy, seems to be a subject that most people have opinions on. “You have too little milk!” “Don’t eat this; it will make the baby gassy!” “Give a little formula to supplement.” Unfortunately however, breastfeeding, like pregnancy, is the most personal, intimate and private journey there is. And a lot of these opinions are perpetuated on the basis of myths! What is interesting, however, is how others’ opinions on this very private matter affect a new mum, often shaping the entire gamut of her motherhood journey. I am a huge proponent of breastfeeding.
