Australian homes with solar panels are worth about $23,100 more on average than those without, according to a new report from property analytics firm Cotality.
The value boost varies by city, driven by growing demand for energy-efficient homes.
In Hobart and Brisbane, solar-equipped properties attract the biggest premiums of around $30,459 and $30,219.
Melbourne follows with an average increase of $24,369, while Sydney homes see a more modest boost of $19,179. In Perth, the uplift is $14,939, and in Adelaide, it's $14,093. These findings show that energy-efficient upgrades not only cut power bills but also add comfort and long-term value, says Tom Coad, senior director of banking and finance at Cotality.
