Five things to do
Dark Mofo, the annual outdoor mid-winter festival, is back. Buckle up, because between June 5 and 15 Tasmania will be alight with large-scale public art, food, music, fire, light and noise. While perhaps most famous for its nude swim (pictured above), Dark Mofo exists to explore ancient rituals and the links between old and contemporary mythology, human relationships with nature, religious and secular traditions, darkness and light, and death and renewal. It takes place at suitably alternative venues such as deconsecrated churches, rooftops, basements, bars, bank vaults, on the shores of the River Derwent in Hobart and beyond (including Launceston and Ulverstone).
