As Valentine’s Day was approaching, I looked at old Victorian valentines for a bit of inspiration. I liked the combination of flowers on some of the cards and wanted to create a pillow in that same vintage style. I decided to challenge myself and create the project in Janome Artistic Digitizer (AD) software. Using Artistic Digitizer, you can combine a variety of techniques. And the software lets you see what the outcome will look like before you even take the first stitch! The AD software has a unique feature called PaintStitch. It all started with a bundle of fabric I got for my birthday. My father-in-law purchased a fat-quarter tower of Curiouser and Curiouser by Tula Pink for FreeSpirit Fabrics because, in one colorway, Alice has red hair and it reminded him of me—or at least my pre-covid locks.
